To the extent that the marginal difference between those two already prestigious degrees even matters, the assumption, right or wrong, is that the more mathematically rigorous degree is more difficult and therefore more valuable.

I'm not sure what you studied in undergrad, if you're relatively less advanced in regards to maths you may find the engineering masters slightly more challenging. Presumably the difficulty question in one of degrees though. All economists have to make calculate trade offs though, right? Potentially more work versus a greater payout

Go for the latter I reckon. In the global economy there will only be more and more highly paid and interesting positions based specifically on converting actuarial risks into profit.

Meh, I'm a computer programer. Hate it, I only do it cuz it pays well, especially here in the shit part of europe. Would really love to do something else.

Switch the kind of programming you're doing, change languages, expert domains, do contracts or project or product or presales work or architecture for a while.

The worst thing is spending too long working on problems and under conditions that don't suit your tempo or your interest.

javascript, php, jquery ...but right now, the company I work for...we do a lot of onlineshop's...and I just do almost the same thing over and over again, just change the design a little 😆 . Looking for something to do in my spare time. I get 40 days holiday per year and I'm off every bank holiday and both Sat/Sun.. I don't like doing nothing and I can't do the whole "laying on a beach" thing, so I'd rather look to do something part time where I can use my hands because being at a PC all day takes it's toll on me. Plus scaffolder's earn £13-14 per hour or thereabouts which I'd be okay with, not the best but it's a decent amount.

Electrician is more of a full time thing I believe.

If you like scaffolding and electrical stuff (not sure about the electrical bit) ever thought about something like lighting design? Custom lighting designers (for events etc) have quite a fun job.

Good call burns. My auld lad does that a little. Has a shed full of lights and control board in the garden. Mostly does local amateur theatre productions and school shows. They pay well enough, although he usually just pays my brother or less often me for help then re-invests it. It can be quite fun though and you meet plenty of people doing it.

I've only ever put up scaffolding on sites I was then going to labour on but its not any fun. If you want to work with your hands I can think of a lot more interesting things to do. Putting up and taking down scaffolding gets old quick. Its monotonous and I'd hate to do it full time.
