1) You don't want Fabregas and the system that was built pound around him., yet...

Was your ideal resolution for us to stick him in the stands until Barca or someone else deemed it necessary to tempt us with large money for a man we wouldn't be treating like a valued player, and a player whose contract we would be in danger of violating?

Well he was "on strike" or "mentally distracted" or "injured" whichever you prefer anyway.
Of course hes not wholly to blame, it seems clear now that Wenger foolishly promised he would let him go this season in that "greatest conversation of his life" that he had last season, and whatever else Wenger is he's a man of his word.

Does it hurt you to see his Messi-esque productivity for Barca? We lost the best player we've had outside Henry, Dennis and Vieira this millennium. Because we were too clever to build a squad like normal teams

Blaming Cesc for anything related to our present predicament is like blaming the Okies for fleeing the Dust Bowl.

Henry would not have played for us in the lean years through which we presently suffer, I'm not sure even Bergkamp would have. I'm not sure bloody Tony Adams would have.

Bergkamp made little use of speed or power, what he did was bring the most out of everyone elses speed and power. That's exactly what Cesc should have been doing.

If he had the likes of Henry, Pires, Vieira, Ljungberg and Gilberto around him you don't think we would have been successful?

I think Cesc would have been just as useful as DB10 if we swapped him into the invincibles. There'd be no Le Tissier-type goals, but Cesc would've provided at least as much in terms of facilitating the offense and scoring goals.

I think you're talking about Bergy in his latter years when he was less mobile because he most certainly had speed strength and power, you couldn't play in the 90's without being able to hold off a challenge, and I'll tell you, Bergy wasn't averse to swinging an elbow or two......
