Bearing in mind all I've seen of Chamberlain is the 10 minutes at Old Trafford last week and the cup game from last season - what's he got going for him really? What makes him special? Just how good does he look?

Quick, good dribbler, good passer, great crosser and more importantly a footballing brain to be able to make the most out of those attributes.

Has top pace and close control but it's his awareness of the game and his ability to change the tempo that's impressed me most. He also doesn't look anywhere near as sloppy as arshavin rosicky and Walcott in possession and has good workrate

Basically he is everything you Ricky hoped and believed Theo would become three seasons back when you defended him staunchly.

If he meant it that 50 yard cross field ball was quality. Brilliant technique, cos he hit it so hard and flat.

Anyway, lads a proper footballer and he's quick with a good low centre of gravity. At this moment in time though, he's very lazy. 😆

I ask because i think his biggest problem is his lack of movement into space in midfield, moving into tiny pockets to receive the ball. He makes some good runs off the ball but doesn't get as involved as Arsene might like.

He just seem to understand the pace of the game. Is able to read it and therefore to dictate it when needed. Think he's more of a playmaker than a typical workhorse. You notice it on nights like this one. The Ray Parlour comparisons are wide off the mark. Not that I think that Parlour was in any way a limited player, but Lansbury's different. People are doing him a disservice to suggest that he'll only make it as a utility player with us. He's good enough to make it, period.

Lansbury is better than bloody Henderson. Bad decision from the club if he's really out of contract next summer and we're getting nowt for him.

What we talking speed wise with Chamberlain? Valencia/Young/Nani quick - as in, quick, strong runner, but not explosive/absolutely devastating speed, or Aarron Lennon/Agbonlahor/Walcott quick?

BTW - I still think Theo will make for a brilliant striker, Rohit, and still rate what he can do highly, just don't feel he's a right winger and never have.

I'm massively excited by Ox. Just looks so composed and intelligent on the ball. Has the technique and pace to go with it. He'll be close to the first team in a couple of seasons. Only turned 18 a couple of weeks ago too, amazing.

Lennon quick Ricky and has similar ability to twist his body and can stop start with ease

As I said earlier, teams will need to double up on him soon

Agreed. He'll never be anything really special as a wide player, but up top, playing off a good partner, he'd score loads. Absolutely loads.

A-M is buzzing with Chamberlain excitement. Sounds like we've got something very, very special. 🙂

Can't wait to watch him properly now. His performance tonight worthy of a YouTube clip you reckon? Hope so, will keep an eye out for one.

Don't think he did enough to merit a full compilation. Lansbury did on the other hand. We should probably start a separate thread for him though.

Looking at that clip, Chamberlain probably should have had a penalty. I thought he went down easy when I first saw it but he's pushed off the ball when in control of it.
