Bit of crystal ball-gazing ...

We have a string of matches against average sides coming up. Definitely a good chance of creeping 2 or 3 points closer to fourth spot before the start of December.

Spurs have a relatively easy near term fixture list though. Liverpool's is tougher, and Chelsea's is terrible, they'll drop points in their next four matches.

I think we'll be well in the race for "the prize" at Christmas.

Spurs played all the contenders other than Chelsea very early in the season and played all at home if i am not wrong.

They are doing well against teams in the lower half and like i said it is because they deserve a little more respect than they are getting now. If teams start defending against them like they do against us they will win little.

Every year there is a team of overachievers that does what Newcastle is doing. Once they have made enough points to more or less guarantee they will finish in their target position, they will fall off the pace. I give them early December before they put their feet up, pat themselves on the back and smoke a cigar

I've been wondering about that.
Best defence in the league, haven't lost a game yet but I think that they won't score enough goals to make the top four.

It's one of the away fixtures that I dread.

Not really. Ultimately they're not good enough. Neither are Liverpool. They'll fall away sooner or later.

We just need to look to our own results, and make sure that three points at Stamford Bridge actually adds up to an advantage.

If we beat Chelsea at home those 6 points will give us a big advantage to finish in front of them.

Looking at our next four fixtures -
Norwich (A), Fulham (H), Wigan(A), Everton (H).

Winning another four games on the spin might be a big ask but all of those games look like possible three pointers.
Game by game and all, but it's difficult not to get excited at the thought of where we might be after those games.
CL and CC, squad management and rotation, will play a big part in the outcome I suppose.
Keeping people fresh without breaking momentum.

Very annoying two weeks of international break boredom ahead now.

😆 at the Liverpool fans as they realize we're level on points with them, they're coming to the realization that they spent 100 million pounds on crap and that "King Kenny" isn't the savior after all. It's funny seeing them try to reconcile all their anger and frustration at the team selections and tactics when they know they can't go after "the King" like they did Hodgson.

I never take any notice of Liverpool fans. Miserabilists most of them 🙂 I seriously don't know any who are happy about football.
They're nowhere near as obnoxious as the United and Chelsea fans that I know.

liverpool and spurs are both reassuringly crap. both of them barely scraped results against us while we were at our lowest ebb. unfortunately they are still slightly better than us if rvp gets injured

Messiahs come and go at Liverpool. Same as Newcastle actually, and I'm going to enjoy the Pardew implosion more when it arrives, might have to wait until next season on that one though.

Newcastles next two games are against United (a) and City (h). We should close the gap on them soon.

Don't worry about Newcastle. Be good for us if they keep their form up for a bit longer and take points off the teams we're chasing, something they're more likely to achieve with their confidence so high. They'll lose their way before they come to the Emirates.

Can he play from wide position? If not i don't think he'd be happy to warm the bench while van persie rapes the EPL

How many games have Chamakh been involved in so far? That is considering Chamakh has been woeful. Had he actually shown anything he would have played more. Those games would have been for Ba.

Also, a weird way of thinking IMO. I don´t hear anyone complaining about us having 3 good CBs available for 2 spots, or how on earth we will manage if we have all of Song, Diaby, Ramsey, Arteta and Wilshere to choose from at CM. It´s called squad depth and all big clubs have it. Wenger ALWAYS leaves us short in several positions IMO.
