The 'slap' should not have been a red, just like Gervinho's red against Barton shouldn't have been.

The kick on the thigh though was awful. And the attempted rake. WTF is up with him?

Don't think much of the "kick". The slap has to be a red though when you consider how often players get sent off for raising their hands. The attempted rake was an embarrassment. Karma ought to catch him up for that one.

Look at it again. Yaya is reaching out his hand towards Mata, Mata doesn´t want to accept it and slaps Yaya´s hand away.

I have to say, that despite having watched the incident like 5 times I too saw it as a slap. Clearly isn´t though. He should have been off for the kick and the attempted stamp on Ramirez though.

I still believe if we have a brilliant 2nd half of the season we can get a very pleasing position. That needs investment in january though

We had a dissasterous start to the season. Yet we're fifth having played United, City, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle away.

We need to go on another run and strengthen in January. But the situation could be so much worse considering our start.

The next 2 weeks will tell us alot. Spurs have Chelsea(H), Norwich(A), Swansea(A). They could easily drop 5 points there.

Chelsea have Tot(A), Fulham(H), Villa(H). I can't see them dropping more than 3 points out of that.

WE have Villa(a), Wolves(h), QPR (h).

I sometimes think we've left ourselves too much to do.
At this stage I think it's between us and Chelsea and an outside chance for Liverpool for fourth.
We're too close to drying up on the goalscoring front and I don't have faith that Wenger will buy some magic in January.

Right now I just don't see who, apart from Robin, can be a viable reliable goalscoring option.
