It was Back On™ for a stretch of last season before we completely threw in the towel. At least as much, or more than it will be if we beat City on the weekend.

Of course not- don't talk crazy Gazza, and we're only in contention for "the prize" so long as RvP stays fit- Wenger out.

But the biggest news this week is of course City were beaten- Well done Chelscum- Long live the Invincibles! 8)

I think in RVP's case it's also that his technique is so outstanding that it helps him in tight spot - he's not super strong or super fast, but enough of these two given his technical ability and his intelligence. The way he moves is phenomenal. He knows exactly where to go to create problems for the defence (e.g., how drop to deep), not to mention where to find the gaps for crosses and cutbacks. Even his goal against Everton, you can see him peel off Jagielka when he sees him looking away at the ball. Jagielka turns around and seems surprised that Robin got a few yards away from him.

He wouldn't be better in that role at all. He lacks vision. He is a proper #9, always has been.

rvp would be awesome no matter what position he plays in the front three. agree we shouldnt move him though - get the german lad to play in the hole

Agree entirely, CJ. He can do this, that and more. But moving him now would be unwise.

As Dules says, you could put RVP anywhere and he'd be world class.

Anyway, this last run of games is the first time since we switched formation that I think it's starting to work. Have to say, I think Arteta has been key in making the system work, although there are other factors too.
