No, just saying I'm fine leaving out one of Song or Vermaelen or Koscielny in a game with, say, a non top-6 team.
I'm not fine with leaving out any of Walcott or van Persie or Gervinho right now. Maybe Chamakh, Arshavin and Park will make a case tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.

The pessimist in me feels we'd be at at least 10 to 1 to win at Etihad at the moment. So I wouldn't leave Song out of the starting XI for Everton, but that's just me.

We have to be prepared to deal with the strong possibility of the loss there, and make sure it doesn't affect our resolve or our morale adversely. Stretching the squad to deal with difficult sequences of fixtures fucks us in the guts of every season.

One week you're saying "Sure we can win against United, Chelsea, City and Villa in a three week period with intervening CL fixtures - no prraaaablem" next you're saying "Can't believe we lost to Villa at home in amongst that LDLL sequence."

Newcastle appear to have lost Colocinni for weeks and Taylor for likely the rest of the season. I always maintained that an injury to their backline would be hard. Two will devastate them. Tiote is also crocked. Their days of disco are done.

Pool have lost Lucas for the season and their midfield looks a mess. Selling Mereiles and benching Maxi don't look clever ideas to me. Their forwards are underperforming. I bet Dalglish solves his striking problem by spunking 20m on Amoebi or Connor Wickham in January, sending them deeper into the quagmire.

It's going to be a straight 4 team shootout for 2-5 amongst United, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal, unless RvP decides to go on leave.

From this angle you can see just how it could have ruptured.
I did think that was probably it for him for the season when I saw it happen.
He looked to be in excruciating pain too, normally he's hard as nails.

nasty. i can see united being dragged into the mire now. rio isn't up to leading the backline anymore, and the likes of smalling and jones aren't ready to take the reigns yet. Not to mention their midfield has hit a low point that's been coming since they won the CL

I also knew instantly he was done for the season (held my knees and went oooh, had knee op earlier this year). His agent now basically confirms that. the way Rio and Smalling looked yesterday (latter in the second goal reminded me of DJ on a bad day), this boat is rocking.

Evans is terrible. Jones has been a mess all season despite them hype. United are fucked.

De Gea is hot and cold, Giggs is still their best midfield player, Young has been disappointing since his bright start, Evra's been meh, Rooney's gone off the boil and Valencia hasn't looked very impressive either.

United: Vidic and Chicharitos out in the last week
Liverpool: Lucas out, and potentially Suarez out for several weeks.

Over the next two weekends, Citeh play Chelsea and Arsenal.
Spurs, meanwhile, are going to be spanking Sunderland and Stoke, and securing 2nd place.

nani is still in good nick, and he's the type of arsehole that bails them out by himself. he almost did it against basle on a few occasions.

I can see United beeing pulled into the pack of teams fighting eachother for fourth now.

It does look like it's going in 4 teams for 3 spots right now. Though city look like on a different level ATM, if they some how lose their momentum (Silva injury, Balotteli kills someone), this could be very exciting.

They're going to be okay if Ferdinand kan play most of the league games. Jones will just slot in. They're going to keep defending with eight men most of time time. It's easy being a defender under those circumstances. If Rooney had been injured on the other hand then their season would've been finished.

Think losing Chicharito was a massive blow myself. He picked them up so many points last season turning draws into wins.
