If Fabregas is available, it would be mental to not put in a bid.

Let's be real. We are not going to easily attract stars this summer. Bayern are done shopping, but there is still more to come from Citeh, Chelsea, United, Real, Barca, PSG, Monaco and Juventus. I doubt there are enough stars to satisfy those teams and still leave something for us.

Any deal may be complicated by Arsenal's reported first refusal on Fabregas, although United sources are confident that will not be an issue.

Agree, cant see this happening. Don't see Cesc giving up on his Barca dream this quickly. But I'm sure that two faced prick is also trying to convince Cesc to make the move.

Let's give the rumour credence for a moment: how much could our "first refusal" clause really mean if Fabregas would prefer to join United over us, given that the status quo at Arsenal hasn't shifted an inch since he demanded his Barcelona transfer?

First refusal isn't really worth the paper its written on but if the sell on clause is true then it certainly plays to our advantage. We could make it almost impossible for United to do business with Barca. Presuming the only way Cesc leaves is if he's pushed out, you'd imagine they'll want the highest price available.

Stupid to stay in my opinion. He may get them into the top four next season, then what? One year in the cHamps League before he's off? He'll only have two years on his contract to run next summer, and if his form doesnt match that of this season then his value will only drop. Levy should cash in now.

Monaco aren't in europe (yet) so financial fairplay means nothing and they'll cross that bridge when they come to it. Ligue 1, however, has some sort of regulation in place to oversee the spending of their clubs but I don't really know anything about it.

If he came back to Arsenal would your opinion of him change? Might make those things said following his exit seem less like bullshit to you.
