Thank heavens the Aussie kickers are poxy is all I can say! Reminded me very much of the 2001 series in Australia as we struggled in the last 15 or so minutes. Can't believe they kept missing those kicks. Enjoyable game though and should be a great series.

Really looking forward to seeing Zebo, Tuilagi, O'Brien, and Faletau! Hope Kearney plays well (I think he's great), and I'd like to see Hogg play well from the bench. Think he'd be a great option from the bench in the next test.

O'Brien should be starting next week imo.

Not sure why Hogg wasn't on the bench last night. We'd have been in big trouble with a couple of backline injuries like the Aussies had. Should be strengthened with Tuilagi coming into the 22 next week. Provided there are no more injuries, I don't think I'd change the starting side which were pretty dominant for 60 minutes. The impact of a Tuilagi should help keep things strong at the end.

Hogg probably paid because the experiment at 10 didn't really work. Which is odd, because putting him on the bench would still have allowed cover at 11, 12, 14 & 15 - when Maitland can only really play the wing & not that well at that.

Tom Court called up now. Another guy called up because he's nearby - kind of diminishes the whole achievement of being a Lion thing.

Just out of interest - I know Asa is quite a Lions fan, what about the rest of you? Honestly i didn't really give a damn when Australia got that last min penalty. The Lions interest me and i enjoy the games but i honestly couldn't care less if they're successful or not. I find the whole "pinnacle of your career" thing weird tbh, i've never looked on the Lions as being that significant. Suppose to be 30 thousand fans at the 1st test - i just couldn't help but think why do they care so much?

I think it is significant, and my heart was racing when Beale had those two kicks at the end.

I don't know why, but I definitely care about the lions and always have. My family is massively into rugby, and the lions have been a prominent part of my summer every 4 years.

It's a great concept too, taking the best of the home nations and pitting them against the southern powerhouses of world rugby.

Why is the Lions important? Scale, spectacle, rarity of the competition - it's tradition, above everything else.

Am also a big fan. Went to one of the 2005 tests against the All Blacks and it was probably the best atmosphere of any sport I've been to.

O'Connell rule out of the rest of the series with a broken arm. Big blow but fortunately there's some good options in reserve. Parling presumably the favourite to start. Bowe will also be available so with him and Tuilagi back the bench should be a lot stronger than it was the other night. For Australia McCabe is definitely out, but they still don't know about Barnes, Ashley-Cooper and Ioane. Lealiifano will be back and apparently wanted to come back on the other night but the time had expired. Commenatators said he was going to be the first choice kicker. Can only be better than their other options surely!

Burn out the cancer I say. We built our dominance in the 90s and 00s on the back of unity, strong leadership and discipline. Ditch all the "loveable larrikins" and go back to basics: fitness, technique and hierarchy.

Corbisiero out of 2nd test as well. That's a massive blow, IMO, Vunipola needs to get his head down In the scrum next week. Parling out of tomorrow's game, looks a nailed on starter for the weekend now.

Apparently there's an arrest warrant out for Ioane for failing to appear in court today on an assault charge. 😆

Turns out Corbisiero isn't definitely out yet - think his fitness could prove decisive.

If we're putting Parling into the second row on Saturday, I'd like to see someone with more set-piece / breakdown experience on the flanks than Croft. I don't think we will, but I'd start Lydiate.
