based on your stance, no players should move to other teams via free agency. just stay where they are, try and win where they are, even if they are stuck on a terrible team. titles dont matter, because if you take less money to try and win a title, that makes you less of a man.
durant probably correctly looked at OKC's team and realized he was never winning a ring if he stayed there. he sacrificed to go to a better team that was more suited to him because he wanted a new challenge and because he wanted to win a title. this happens in every sport every year many times.
no one player can win on their own. lebron is the best player of this generation and even he couldn't win this year even though he has an elite point guard and elite power forward on his team. durant going to golden state didnt assure them of the title. if durant's mid-season injury was more serious like they originally thought, then maybe cleveland has a 3-2 lead right now going home with a chance to clinch.
