i don't really watch other sports so i can't comment on the state of quality there, but i feel privileged

I do, a lot of the time and then I think about it, as I do with many things :egg: and I rationalize it by crediting it somewhat to the internet and access to watching so many games these days. Surely there are great players every generation in ech sport and everyone would feel the same, but then I think some more and count the great players now one by one(there's a few in cricket who are doing superhuman feats too) and that's when I stop thinking and just get on with enjoying them all.

I prefer Feds style of play, effortless, moves like a dancer on the court, so elegant. He is an all time great, possibly the greatest.
Rafa as BT pointed out is mentally tougher. A league of his own. He is also the premier athlete on the court, or was. Why I always root for Rafa: his personality, that humbleness, his playing each point as if it's his last. He is the perennial underdog (apart from clay) champion who doesn't whine. He has won all the majors, he has done it all.
Wonder if Joker or Andy will go back to dominating. Or will Roger and Rafa find a second wind.

Fun game even though I never watch the sport. That suddenly death rule was beyond fucked up though. Why not give the team that doesn't win the coin toss a chance to get equal points?

It really isn't. It's not a big advantage at all to start with the ball in regular football. My friend told me that in college football, the team that wins the coin toss starts with the ball. The other team then gets a chance. If both teams get the same amount of points, they go again. If not, we have a winner.

Yeah Matt Ryan lost that game on that sack, but the coaches should have been calling run plays there to eat the clock and ensure a sack didn't happen. Didn't have to pass on that play as they were already in FG range.

Agreed that the overtime rules are flawed.

Just got tickets for the first All Blacks-Lions test. Missed out in the ballot initially but they just released some more tickets for those who missed out the first time.

Hope it's a good one. You'd think the first will be our best chance for a win. Had the option for each test and would have preferred the 2nd test in Wellington so wouldn't have needed flights too but going to be away (for the Arsenal in Sydney trip) for that. Having to get a flight back at 7am on the Sunday morning (game is Saturday night) as it's the only one that's not an astronomical price (ie, with this event on the flights later in the day are 5-6 times what you'd usually pay). Not sure how I'll get to the airport that early from my brother's place but figure that out later!

Missed out in the ballot for the 2005 tour too, but we ended up getting a couple of last minute tickets to the 3rd test as a friend of a friend who had come from the UK had to return home early for a family emergency. I won a coin toss to decide whether it was me or my brother who went with my Dad!
