Good examples you pick there! Most of those guys are much better scorers than Green, no contest, but it is saying something that you pick guys to compare with that can only be described as elite players. How does that go together with Green NOT being an elite player? On top of that, he is a better defender than pretty much all of them. As for Pippen, whom I loved watching, not even he could legitimately guard power forwards or centers. Green, on the other hand, can do that, and does it on a regular basis.
Green couldn't do it on another team? That is a bit difficult to speculate about until it happens, really. Of course it helps to play with the splash brothers, but I think you are selling Green a bit short. Personally, I think he would produce similar numbers, if not better, on a worse team where he would be expected to produce even more. I also find it difficult to see him producing less on a good team. Green instead of Ibaka for OKC? Think he'd do just fine (especially now when Westbrook has started to pass the ball even in the fourth quarter). I can do the same mental trade with the Clippers, the Spurs, the Blazers, the Raptors, the Heat etc, and I still think Green would flourish.
Saying Green is a unicorn fits for me, because I don't see many players, if any, who are as versatile as he is. I think he is a remarkable player, and I love his attitude and the heart he plays with.
