Nah, sports like b-ball are brilliant from a commercial pov because the game has natural breaks with time-outs and quarters. Close games are naturally longer down the stretch due to time-outs and tactical fouling, not due to commercials.
What's ridiculous IMO is the NHL, where refs have to wait with face-offs until the commercial breaks are over. 🙂

As much as I can't stand Michael Clarke and David Warner, the latter in particular who comes across the biggest git of the lot, it has been pretty special seeing them make these emotional hundreds in the last 2 days after the couple of weeks they've been through.

Yeah I'm generally not a fan of the Aussie cricket team but I was pleased to see them do so well in this test. Would not be easy to be playing under the circumstances.

Btw, the someone who was hit by the Mitchell Johnson bouncer,who happens to be arguably the best batsman in the world right now is close to leading India to victory , with centuries in each innings of his first test as captain. Some player he's turning into.

He didn't get runs in England but he's lovely to watch. 140 on day 5 on that wicket is worth something. Lyon was superb too. Harris typically good, Johnson slightly ran out of steam but obviously still keeping batsmen on their toes. Was up all night watching it and now my day will be fucked. But it's worth it. Maybe. No DRS though...the number of bad decisions in that innings. Kohli got a life, Vijay had about 7 and then gets out to a marginal. It's not perfect but they should just use the technology.

Worthy battle for Aus' first test after Hughes. Glad for the few flare-ups (Warner was involved in one, Steve Smith in another), didn't think those competitive instincts would return so quickly.

He never looked fit all game. Might've unknowingly sacrificed his career to lead Australia out in this game. Emotional decision but who can blame him. His hundred in the first innings (after retiring hurt on 60) was right up there with the knock today.

Yes, it's about the period when I was most closely following tennis too, which I haven't done for a few years.

Debatable whether it's sport I know, but going to see live darts for the first time on Friday this week. There's an exhibition tournament on in Wellington and the organisers have managed to get Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis to come so will be good to see them live. There are also plans for a leg of the world series in Auckland later in the year although that doesn't seem to be confirmed yet.
