Nice to see Jacob Bethell at the top level , both his dad Graham and uncle Neil played for our local cricket club just around the corner from our city home. Jofra Archer lived close by as well. England have picked up both , they should be playing for the Windies!

First time I've seen England win a test live. Been to tests on every tour here since 2002 I think. 2 days of leave to find something to do now! I never expected much of a day 5 with the way the game is played these days but thought we'd make it to day 4.

Last one from the cricket. Made it onto the footage yesterday when Blundell's last 6 went over me and landed about 5 meters behind in an empty spot of grass. Closest I've got to a 6 hit in a test. It wasn't very far to throw it back to Crawley on the boundary but the person still managed to hit a lady at the front (2 people to the left of Crawley in this shot) on the back of the head - she was fine, paramedic was quite close at the time and saw it so checked her out and gave her an ice pack.

Djokovic has retired hurt against Zverev. I watched the first two sets of Djoker vs Alcaraz and Novak was looking amazing even with the injury. We all thought he was foxing afterwards but it seems he was injured after all.

Hope Sinner or Shelton beats Zverev.

Have just seen the highlights of Australia beating England in the cricket. That was some great hitting from both sides. It's weird seeing our wicketkeeper in the field, but great to see his catching ability. I don't think Australia has the bowlers to win the tournament, but we've got the batters.

What are people thinking about the quietly quietly approach the tennis authorities took to the Swiatek and Sinner cases? More than a little smelly to me.

It really stinks. Haven't really followed the Swiatek case but the Sinner excuse always sounded like horeshit, and they've now come up with a ban straight after a Grand Slam which finishes before the next Grand Slam and with no titles or prize money forfeited. Big question mark over anything he wins for me.

As an aside, I'm in the ballot for French Open tickets this year (will be in Paris as part of a Europe trip) with that being all I need to complete my career spectator Grand Slam.

Asterix posted in the holiday thread the other day but I went to the quarter final day (Sinner vs Bublik) on Wednesday completing the spectator Grand Slam. I've just managed to get centre court tickets for Wimbledon (day 8, 4th round) which will complete the centre court grand slam (been to Wimbeldon before but just queuing for a ground pass). Got nothing in the ballot so been refreshing the returned ticket site every day and finally got something.

As am I. Only grand slam I can take my little kids too as the rest clash with school. Hope we get lucky.

Ahh going to a grand slam is pretty cool. I went to the US Open a couple times when i was younger. Total pain in the ass to get to, but it was a lot of fun while i was there.
