He’s probably working hard behind the scenes but he’s a bit of a jinx

While the fans were wishing they were all resting up and cotton wooling themselves - turns out they were training hard as you would expect of elite athletes. Maybe something to take away into the new season to avoid the usual discourse around resting.

Of course training hard is an absolute pre-requisite for any player worth his salt these days

I'm talking about his attitude in games, complacent defending and lack of profilgacy

If we are having to come to terms with that noni isn't training as the standard for complacency, it's baffling

Good game. Positives - Ode sees the game in 4D. He’s so much better than anyone else on the ball. Pass to Bieira was sublime. Good pressing and take by MLS. Liked Havertz’s movement. Salmon and Julienne also impressed.

Two negatives: Vieira, why is this guy still here? Dowman, love the guy but he’s still got that I’m the the best player in the u16 team hero ball. Needs to connect more and also learn to defend. Still firmly behind Madueke for me.

If so, only behind Madueke to the extent we need to protect him from brutal tackles. He will learn to release the ball when he's in the team and Odegaard is showing him where it should go.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

Claudius Dowman has been meh this preseason.

This performance is better than madueke's 90% performances last season
