Saka will have to adjust his game, or even position, like Giggs did after his hamstring injury. He’s not going back to the type of winger he used to be unless he opts for risky surgeries, which is unlikely at his age.

Got a feeling we might see Arteta try to mould him into a 10 in future seasons.

Edit: Before anyone jumps on me, Saka is still a very good winger but his lack of acceleration is now an issue. We saw that in the run-in and against PSG. The pacy LBs pocketed him the bigger matches.

Been a lot of talk about this for seasons, and I'm a bit mystified why it hasn't happened. Been quite a few matches it would've been fine to have Saka on the pitch playing Ødegaard's role with Madueke or Dowman at right wing. I think Saka could do it will so I suspect there's some logic of "relationships" that disallows it for Arteta.

See now the end of season is crunch time, playing meaningless league cup games with saka etc (then handicapping ourselves in the final) and the 8th cl group game which didn't matter because we were coming 1st irrespective

Why is saka even coming on against mansfield?
Why is saka starting against port fucking vale?
why is saka coming on in the brighton home game in the league cup?

The same saka is then fucking cooked at the end of the season, imagine what he might have done if he'd been fit for the final properly...i don't see how one person can justify saka playing any of the above games

Plenty of others - Why is rice dead on his feet against sunderland and plenty of our first teamers playing that last dead rubber against inter.

The only one i can legislate is cb's because they can play more...

Mirth Rice is definitely near burnt territory, and he'll pick up something if we rush him back for another long schedule

I'm starting to think I need a long term break too. Going to the wire in the PL and CL and now this lengthy WC ending in the semis.

Not ready for another long season.

daredevil nothing will beat Tue May 19th when we won the title for the first time in 22 years. Might as well quit at the top?

Sicario2 I was almost entertaining the idea that if England had won the WC the same season we won the league I might just retire from watching at the top as it could never come close to being matched again. But it didn't happen, and there's still a CL to hopefully eventually win in my lifetime...
Definitely feels like a bit more a break would be good before another season starts though.

Another thing is we can blame Arteta but other coaches are guilty of the same thing. Look at what happened with Rodri when he did his knee in, played in some record amount of games before his injury.

We got to a CL final, Carling cup final and won the PL taking it almost to the final game our players were going to have put serious minutes up. But there is also an argument for better rotation but not always that easy when you are battling it out on all four fronts.

JazzG They did that to themselves, did not buy proper backups for Rodri. But Pep always gambles in the middle of the season rotating players he has proper backups for even though they're not optimal. Little surprise they always finish the season strongly.

Says he played with a back fracture, while that does sound alarming It depends how bad the fracture was. I remember Wenger talking about our players play with micro fractures all the time. Then again, we used to have one of the worst injury record in the league under him at times….
