DiabyKungFu He is, without exaggeration, one of the worst players in top level football at dribbling, passing, shooting and winning the physical duels. It is not possible to be worse. Gyokeres playing for Arsenal this season is the closest we have ever come to seeing the famous "What if Dave from the local YMCA played with Jokic, Lebron, Giannis and Curry?" hypothetical play out in real life.
First of all, you're exaggerating.
Secondly, I am not a Gyokeres apologist, and I recognize he has lots of frustrating limitations. However, how effective a striker is, is highly dependent on how he is used and the quality of chances he is presented. While there is merit in some of the horsewhip information you're presenting, for me the important piece would be how he's performing (or how he performed) when he does get chances.
So, since I know you're entirely fair in your assessment, I'm sure you'd be happy to pull data showing what Gyokeres open play xG is in the premier league last season (excluding non penalty and set pieces of course), vs how many open play goals he actually scored, plus the delta. Additionally, if you could do the same for all the strikers in the league this past season for comparison, that should give us some good insight into how he's actually doing when he comes to putting away chances that are being created for him.
My argument for him (even if he's not my cup of tea) is that we play a style where he is not the main goal scorer or primary target ala Haaland and co, but a secondary, central outlet. It also took over half a season for us to adapt to his strengths, and despite this he's performed decently. History has shown he gets better as well over time, so his upcoming season should be one where we begin to see the best of him, or judge him more critically.
