Dortmund surely must be an exception to a "I don't want to leave England" stance.

It's damn near the pinnacle club for high quality player development.

Yeah, Dortmund's development record is pretty impressive. One caveat is that they're generally purchases and then resales, not loans.

daredevil The squad depth that came in so handy last season is being gutted.

The only players we've gotten rid of who were actually used are Martinelli and Trossard though, and we've replaced them with one starter. Ethan wasn't even squad depth last season. I feel Trossard should have stayed but the club evidently had a different opinion.

I think we've tidied up the squad to make room for a couple of new signings over the next 12 months without having to kick anyone important out. We could grab someone in January if we need to without having to worry about either squad places or UEFA rules.

I still think we look very weak going forwards.i felt we needed to improve the attack with trossard and Martinelli. With them going I think we are very light and weaker going forwards which was already the area we looked poorer in. Havertz isn't a regular goal scorer and still early but yesterday was a little warning in terms of not exactly knowing where Tzolis will settle.

daredevil It was obvious we wouldn’t replace Jesus. Nobody signs third choice strikers so he was a luxury but we did get money in the end so it was worth moving him on - but I’d rather have players in the squad than money in the bank.

Here by "players in the squad" you must mean the proverbial inanimate carbon rod then. We could have replaced Jesus with a plastic bag from Tesco stuffed in a drawer and not noticed the difference.

Cautiously pleased Nwaneri will still be at Arsenal. The dream continues.
