Why not keep him and finish out his contract? With strength and conditioning as sophisticated as it is, we don’t need to run away from players because they’re 31 years old. For what, £16m? He’s one of the only magic men in our team. I guess we’ll see with the other moves, but it just doesn’t feel like we know how to get the attack right.

Gurgen He has one year left on his contract and from what I can see has a good relationship at the club so probably requested he wants to move. I'd like to think we have someone lined up....

CPM We can't keep players against their will, he's probably asked to leave and we've set out our expectations. You have to respect he is 31 and probably his last chance for a big contract. He came here and gave us 3.5 quality years, if he wanted to stay I'd say keep him but if he wants to leave then we don't need to be difficult about it.

Thought we'd get more for him but I assume this is the team he wants to play for.

He's had personal issues that might contribute to this. We can upgrade him, I'm not fussed. I will miss him and his clutch goals

I'm a little unsure about this one, see what we do in the window but ever lost a proven difference maker that maybe only fit Saka is better then. We are a much weaker side now to much hard work not enough real quality we need to address that and we needed to before Trossard but now another 2 I'd say at least

Mirth what did the other wingers do? And the one goal west ham pretty big one that's what I mean about difference maker.

It's not that Trossard is irreplaceable but he ranks above all the others. Get rid of some of those before getting rid of him for me.

awooga83 sure, but arguing between our wingers is a false economy. I’d be open to parting ways with all of them (Trossard, Martinelli, Madueke) bar Saka because the gap between them is small but the gap between them and the external marker is vast.

If it was up to me I’d get rid of Maduke first of course

Mirth I think that's fine but whatever you say about Trossard he's better then the others and his technical level is higher with the ball due example. So a few from Madueke and martinelli or even eze should be on the list to go but first. We have reduced the quality is the team in technical terms which wasn't so high anyway

JazzG yeah he was looking at his options last summer so we paid him a bit more to stay. Seems like this was always the plan for him. If he can get another 4 years on a big wage and we get a €20m fee its a win win all round. I love the little guy but he's 31 and blows hot and cold. We all knew we needed an upgrade on the left anyway so left go and get that done.

I always thought the way he ended the season looked like a man determined to go out on a high anyway. Those last few games he was more intense than I'd ever seen him. He leaves us with good memories and a league title. He'll always be loved here.
