I don't know how much of it is down to certain individuals but there has definitely been a big renovation going on for the last year or so. Gotta give the club some credit for managing to move Nelson, Jesus and Vieira off the wage bill, for example.
We have a high-performing squad with good cover on every position now, and nearly all of them are grownup players in their mid-20s who have the experience and level needed to make sizable contributions. This is the kind of squad makeup you expect from a team at the top. We can afford some punts now, both on extraordinary players and on talent. The former are absent on the market at the moment but I bet we're tracking more guys like Tzolis. Maybe we'll get one of them in before the window closes if we suspect their market value is about to explode.
