Only time i even thought about Nelson (other than being an academy home grown kid) was his goal v Bournemouth. Highlight of his career. Otherwise, he's done nothing that spectacular of note. I think signing for WHU in the Championship sounds about right. They are still a relatively big club and have ever chance of being promoted back to the PL next year if they get their signings right. And he doesnt even have to leave London. Close the deal quickly and move on and close that chapter.

This doesn't make any sense, because it's not the correct comparison-

You can compare martinelli's contract at arsenal (180k) to what summerville did at west ham (Presumably MUCH lesser)

You can't compare martinelli's contract at arsenal with what summerville earns in Saudi because Martinelli himself will earn much more in Saudi

I have to assume that someone - whether the player or the club - has ruled out a transfer to another PL team. The key to getting a high bid is having multiple bidders.

RowJimmy There'd be no reason for either party to do that. I'm guessing Martinelli's current wages (and future wage demands) are high, and PL teams don't think his skillset is worth the cost. And doesn't help that he's a finished article at this point, when many teams are obsessed with youth and 'potential'.

I've also seen a lot of reports that are saying the price is 55m pounds. Still hard to rationalize with some of the other players going for much higher prices like Savinho but it's a little closer to the value I would hope to get from him.

Sicario2 This link doesn't make much sense to me but a lot of Barca transfers rarely do. I would drive him there myself if we can get a replacement in Alvarez. Just give us back what we paid for him, which doesn't seem unreasonable.

Agree he just doesn't offer the qualities premier league teams will want in a winger. The work ethic isn't what most teams are looking for especially when your not as dominant a team you can't put up big money for a forward who doesn't have many goals in him.
