This is crazy stuff from Portugal , they've had so many occasions to get at Croatia and slowed down to walking pace. If this is by design they should sack that manager at HT
And now Croatia score (Perisic). Gonna be honest, i would love to see this result hold, but i doubt its gonna.
Ronaldo scores, but called off for offside. And his wait for a knockout round goal goes on.
And now Portugal get a penalty with VAR assistance.. 'kinell.. You know Ronaldo will take it
and Penaldo scores.. Meh. 1-1
Its a penalty , Veiga got away from him and he has his arms around.
Ronaldo goes off, the epitome of joyless self-absorption, doesn't acknowledge the crowd in the slightest, a hint of tears as the tyranny of his pathological neurosis possibly comes to an end on the international stage. Fucking freak that man.
2-1 to Portugal in the 94th min!
Those two Croatian centre-halves are going to spend the rest of their lives asking themselves "Why didn't I jump?"
Unbelievable... Croatia score in the 102nd minute. Holy shit! What a crazy game.
VAR checking for offside.. I think they will call this off. Fucking hell
Holy crap, in the 12th minute of time added on …
VAR check incoming to ruin the fun
Thats offside
I actually thought the Portugal player touched the ball last before it got to the Croatia player (edit, i should clarify, i thought the Portugal player made an attempt at the ball as it skimmed off his head, but apparently they deemed he did not)
USArsenal That does not matter , once the Croatia player headed the ball first and its not an intentional touch from the defender its Offside. Clear offside. No arguments.
GooneriC
I clarified what i meant. It looked initially as if the Portugal player made an attempt at the ball as it skimmed off his head, but he was deemed not to
Did the ball literally stroke the Croatia player's hair?
Im disappointed because if I'm honest, i fucking hate Portugal and I hate Ronaldo, and i wanted them to lose. (and even though he played for the Spurs, i like Modric)
Apparently the chip in the ball now can tell the VAR people if it deviated - ie if it was touched. They used that tech for maybe one of the Dutch goals in their first game against Japan?
Yes the chip worked but I think they sent ref to the monitor to check on the ball hitting the defender on the way to the offside player
In time no one will remember Modric playing for Tottenham. He’s transcended beyond them into first and foremost a great player, and beyond that a Madrid legend.
So yeah, easy to cheer for him @USArsenal
