Can’t blame gyokeres. Been absolutely manhandled. And barely any service on top of that

The standard of refereeing in this world cup is astronomically bad. Gyokeres has been floored about a dozen times tonight and barely gets a call. The German goal earlier was an absolute joke (more from VAR than the ref). Some of the things they are letting go is crazy

USArsenal it really looks like referees and VAR have been told to let stuff go. You seem to be able to get away with a lot this tournament.

Asterix for sure, and it’s easy to point out and remember when it goes poorly, but I’ve enjoyed a lot of soft fouls being ignored.

That said, VAR needs to step in more often. If they can overturn (correctly, albeit barely) Vini’s goal than they need to step in to review that Germany high kick before their goal.

They’ll inconsistency of using VAR is a bigger issue than the fouls they’re not calling.

Not me. I think it ruins the game and causes injuries. Gets too physical and players start taking less risk to avoid getting smashed. Just call the game according to the rules. It isn't as hard as everyone makes out.

Burnwinter I don't understand Poppa a lot of the time. Irankunda is not a central striker, especially up against battle hardened Paraguayans. But he does have a hell of a shot on him.

Jordy Bos is excellent. Like really good.

Anyway, we're through! I reckon most likely to face Belgium next, but that group could go any which way. Would love to face the Kiwis, although losing to them would be awful.

Win our next game then take out Argentina and the draw really opens up for us... lol
