This World Cup will be one for the record books imo. All the legends have come out to play. All the big teams doing well and it’s been on the whole a lot of goals and big counties doing well.

It’s only going to get better as the stakes get higher.

It’s virtually impossible for them to not do well if they have 3 teams that can go through each group. There’s zero jeopardy.

It’s fun watching the goals and great to see some underdogs get the odd result but my take away is the standard has been lowered

And while it's fun watching Messi and C.Ronaldo score, it's hard to value their goals now against the 15 goals that R9 scored. These guys are making history because the bar has been lowered - they weren't scoring at this rate in world cups when they were in their prime!

This is just an extension of the conference league or diluting the Europa league - sounds good on paper but just makes for a lower level

Mirth some of the teams are god awful. I prefer the groups of death and drama. We had some surprises but all big footballing nations will make it to the next round. It's too easy to advance

Mirth this is just a bit of selective memory. R9 goal’s included goals v China, Costa Rica and a Ghana side making their first World Cup ever in 2006. Have you seen the countries Kane has scored against? Basically a bunch of minnows and Croatia.
