In this market I'd say it's worth it. I was kind of surprised everyone was saying he's too not worth the money a couple weeks back when he was linked with Liverpool, if he's really rated around €70-80m thats not much more than the £55m we paid for Madueke.

Big Willie Champ Diomande looks a potential world beater to me. If we can pay £50m then spending £60-70 for someone with that kind of skillset and potential is not that obscene to me.

If Ecuador could actually score, they might be dangerous.. Great defensive record in qualifying, but they only scored 14 goals in 18 games too. Lol.

Oh, and Diomande is a freakin beast. He's not just beating Piero, he's doing it to everyone else too. Needs to work on his final balls, but he's got the strength, the skill and the size to cause some damage in the very near future.

Meatwad And you can see why though. There are not many forwards around with his impressive set of attributes (plus potential room for improvement given his age). The fact that both PSG and Liverpool are interested in him says a lot. Over the years, both clubs have proven they have an eye for talented wide forwards.

I don't think people fully appreciate the turnaround for Sweden lately. From the biggest longterm injury crisis I've seen in all my years watching football, and some of the lowest moments in the history of the national team, to 5-1 in a World Cup opener in the span of a couple of months.

24 hours ago not a single person knew what the best XI looked like, or how we even play. There has been no time, no opportunities, to make anything coherent out of this bunch of players, and yet here we are. There are two persons chiefly responsible for this: Potter and Gyökeres. Statues will be made if Sweden end up having a good World Cup.

Gyökeres was the man today. Has an amazing ability to drive a team forward in almost none of the typical ways. Benefited Isak and Ayari tremendously while also being a threat himself.

Yes. This is what I meant when I said "that's an interesting trait" in that truly edifying debate we've been having about him.

The way he scores and "contributes" without lots of "successful dribbles" is unorthodox, but he's got a combination of intensity, strength, directness and running power that is not seen all that widely in football … Havertz for instance has both the physical scale and the scoring prowess but not these interesting traits.

I know we complain about Arsenal strikers, but spare a thought for the Dutch fan who had to go from Marco van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Robin van Persie to Donyell Malen, Memphis Depay and Wout Weghorst in the course of 1-2 generations. There used to be a time that legends like Roy Makaay couldn't get into the Dutch team. Now we are bringing on Brian Brobbey.

Rohit was going to say not for England but beyond Kane its slim pickings. You could argue France but they lack real CFs too. There is a reason Giroud kept his place for so long. Top CFs are rare as hens teeth these days.
