A weird player is Noni. He has all the physical attributes you want which is why clubs and managers keep betting on him. Tuchel picked him for the same reason we did; he makes an able backup to Saka in an age where wingers have been physically shrunk down by decades of inbreednig. But it never really clicks for him does it? He cooks his fullback and then steps on the ball or crosses it 10 meters too far or plays it backwards or something. You don't look at him and think he's going to be grand in a year or two, instead you think he's probably gonna be at Crystal Palace or Fulham by then.
I suspect de Zerbi was right when he questioned Madueke's character. Decision-making is so poor that the only good explanation is he doesn't take it seriously enough. It reflects in the fact that he's a lazy git too, always cheating defensively, which really disappointed me last season because I thought he'd kick on when he got here. Seeing him and Ben White play on the same flank was like a real-life horror movie though. Bloke is lucky that Timber is the best rightback in the world because Jurrien did a massive lifting job.
One of the reasons I'm cautious about Morgan being the solution to our left flank is that I see similar things in him: he's technically more rounded and a more prolific scorer than Noni, but I think he has the same problem with application, and I worry that we're blinded a bit by the athletic attributes.
