Dunno, I can understand why they were like that. Watching another team is different, when you go out there and manage and play you are in control of what happens. When you watch others it is much harder to watch because you have no control over what happens. Declan Rice is probably one of the best big game players in the world but if he isn't playing he can't influence anything. Likewise Arteta who is a bit of a control freak, for someone with that personality having no control would probably be like torture.
Anyways who cares, to paraphrase Kanye, I guess we'll never know.....
