It's not that wild when you look at performances instead of results. I don't think people were happy we lost to City, they were happy with how we played and it gave them some hope. Said hopes quickly evaporated with our latest performance.

We weren't great against City though, at least we had some good performances in this game from the defence. I get a lot more from this than from that City loss.

We out-xG-ed them while Newcastle out-xG-ed us. We haven't been great since Villa at home basically, not sure that is the standard.

Depends which model you look at. Footystats and Understat both have City ahead. I think that's more in line with what I watched.

On a separate not because I've not been on much over the weekend. The yellow card for Pope was an absolute disgrace and anyone who says Thiaw was getting to the ball is saying it only because of the foul. If there is no foul Gyokeres is clearly getting there first. One of the most insane decisions of the season. A second crazy decision for Pope against us.

Qwiss the worst thing about it for me was the initial challenge is one thing, but you clearly see that afterwards Pope makes sure Gyokeres can't get past him by putting an arm across him.

Qwiss Arsecast covered it best. They said that Pope was effectively the last man because only one player was behind him, using the offside rule that requires two opponents ahead of the attacking player. That was a red for sure.

RocktheCasbah it was an absolutely shocking moment. Although I was not actually shocked that Ødegaard fucked that up so badly.

I thought we did enough to least draw with City , Havertz chances were critical . Missing them was criminal , any decent attacker in this league would put away at least one of those open chances . Other near misses were down to sheer luck in hitting the post twice , as were some City chances.
