With 2 clubs with the same points, one team has 2 of the top scoring players in the PL - the other chose not to take one of those for madueke and is wishlisting the other's back-up to be our primary forward

Very encouraging performance. Not a coincidence that it comes when we play Havertz, Eze and Odegaard together for probably the first time. We played well. City were just better. Quite an enjoyable game apart from losing. Gives me hope that we can right this ship.

Claudius I know you're more optimistic then me and each to their own but whist today was more positive we still lost when it battered and our forwards are nowhere near good enough. So getting results and boosting the goal difference I don't fancy from this team.

awooga83 I’m still crushed we lost. But we played well. And got outplayed. This isn’t like that limp Carabao final performance. We looked like Arsenal against a top top team. And we just let ourselves down in key moments. I take encroachment. It’s not the kind of defeat I look at and think “this team is done”. I actually think the opposite. That we could go on now and have a strong finish

Claudius I don't think this city is a great side though, maybe the point is we are apart not a great side and it's to similar level teams slugging it out. However we are going to need goals and potentially quite a few each game to get results and if necessary to outscore city and that is what I don't see in this team.

Gurgen can't remember who said but rotating Ode with Zubimendi feels a good plan. But Eze deserves to start every game currently.

Don Pacifico i would start all those players. And hope Saka joins them soon. We look better with more players who can manipulate the ball on the field.

I was impressed with the team overall. Only area of improvement is the whole right flank for me. If we can get this team with Timber and/or Saka, would be good.

By the way there was a clear red card by Khusanov but VAR didn’t even look. Oil dollars reign supreme again

Claudius I think you should discount Saka for this season he's clearly had a problem as well as his form and is unlikely to just become good even if he makes it back his best impact is unlikely to occur in the limited games left.

MistaT Zubi is the defensive mid. Odegaard is at the attacking mid. Stupid comparison. May as well be asking why Ode isn't making as many tackles or interceptions as Zubi.

Qwiss there is a question around the balance. Not sure how best to articulate it. Zubi and Rice are both playing as B2Bs. And Odegaard as an AM. But it would be helpful for Zubi and/or Rice to be more ball dominant given how they are deployed. They are both low touch players. Potentially an argument to have both Ode and Eze in the centre in some games, and only one of the others.

Qwiss — I’m talking about Odegaard coming deep to get on ball, and then actually make sharp passes forward.

Zubimendi has been awful passing forward all season. I’ve been shocked how passive he’s been.

Claudius I think Ode and Rice don't work together. Both are too focussed on running hard yards and keeping the ball. We need someone more incisive in the midfield. I think Ode and Rice should rotate with more inventive players ahead of them. I was hoping Ode would go back to that, as he was great 3 years ago, but he's been Arteta'd into work horse.

MistaT they've different roles. Its down to the manager. Zubi was pretty good today. Helped the defence a lot, made more tackles than anyone else (tied with Mosquero who was also quite good).
