My favourite player during those years. If anyone from our barren years deserves legend status it's not Fabregas but his compatriot in midfield right here.

Edit: Actually either of our two other Spanish midfielders during those years, especially considering what Arteta's both captained and managed us to.

QuincyAbeyie really well written. Always seemed like a good lad. Obviously there was something more there Wenger thought he could unlock but it just didn't quite happen. Still he should be proud he represented Arsenal and as he says he never lacked for effort. That's why we'll always be rooting for him whatever else he does after football.

and the following season it took a giroud lengthy injury for us to sign welbeck on deadline day otherwise sanogo would have been starting for us for 3 months

daredevil Arsene extracted levels from certain players he had no business extracting. He was unique in that respect. Maybe Alex Ferguson came close.

Towards the end, though, he took it too far.
