Watching Guimaraes without an Arsenal filter on my viewing has definitely opened my eyes to what he would bring to this squad. He's essentially a more combative Zubimendi with more progressive passing. Adding Guimaraes next to Rice would completely open up the game of players like Gyokeres, Martinelli (if we keep him), or Madueke. He's always looking to progress the ball forward and find a runner. He's clearly a bit older than I'd ideally want but definitely has a few top years left and this would be a good time to grab him IMO. He would also offer a little more rotation for Rice than our other options do IMO. Ideally we can convince Newcastle to let him go for under 70m - this is the type of signing that Ferguson would've made for a title defending United team. Just go out and get the best EPL players to add to the squad. If Newcastle isn't willing to sell, I hope that we get involved with Fernandes and don't let Spurs and United have a free shot at him. He's likely going to go for 70 - 90m but I think he's essentially just a younger, less developed version of Guimaraes.
