Gunner89 This I agree with, but hopefully a fracture (which is what the reported injury was) should be easy to understand and predict the trajectory of. Agree that Bournemouth are taking a stand that he is not for sale, but that's always a function of price with such clubs in my view. If we have to stretch, might as well stretch for a relatively proven (I know it's only half a season, hence the "relatively") PL performer with a track record of playing well at Lorient as well before his move. He also adds the technical quality that our frontline dearly lacks at the moment.
I think this is precisely the sort of high-upside risk we're well positioned to take.
This is our new normal for better or worse. We have gotten to the level of team where there are only a handful of players who can legitimately improve us across positions of need and those players don't look to be available. We did the easy part last summer in addressing depth as we could shop in the mid-tier market where deals are far more feasible. Now that we have to shop in the premium aisles, deals are hard to come by and we absolutely should be picky on who we bring in as this can definitely have a knock on effect on future windows. I completely understand people will be upset if we come out of this summer with just Tzolis as an attacking signing (and I hope we do more personally) but I don't think it will be fair to just say, we should have brought in SOMEONE - we've outgrown that mentality IMO.

That's the real criterion of a selling club, its willingness to weaken its football, as Newcastle is currently doing.
