awooga83 there’s no comparable quality for LW on the market though. We’ve got Tzolis who may not be a household name but isn’t a youth prospect either - so numbers wise we’re fine. It’s just about quality.

For a player like Vini you pay the full price - financially, time, behaviour - that’s the cost of entry.

Mirth I don't believe that we can't find better then what we have right now. We don't get anywhere near enough from the left. Vini I think is a 5% shot we have to be looking at something more there otherwise that would be an awful summer. Is the idea Vini is the only target of the summer aimed at raising our level? That seems crazy to me because we don't attack all that well, we were a little down in those metrics across the league (top 8 I thought I saw Tim Stillman mention in a podcast) so there is a decent room to improve.

IBL Poor guy went from an almost universally liked (if somewhat over-rated) manager to Bournemouth to a completely non descript manager that no one likes. I suspect he will lurch from mid table club to mid table club now barring any spectacular successes anywhere.

IBL don't see it changes much. if anything introduces more instability and a clear end to this newcastle project. time for them to sell everyone and start fresh imo

Howe used to be overrated on here, I'd call him St Eddie Howe because he had an OMITT halo. However he's a way better manager than his Toon paymasters have let him be.

Who knows, but it's more likely to have been caused by them agreeing to sell Bruno than keep him. 🤔

Newcastle could have had a midfield of Elliot, Tonali, Bruno and an attack considering of Isak and Gordon so they would have been one top RW from having an absolutely stacked team.

Instead, they went and splunked the Isak money (and more) on Anthony Elanga, Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa. Unbelievable wastefulness. Having said that, even with Isak, Gordon, Tonali and Bruno in the same team, they always looked mid-table even when they finished 5th. Somehow never felt like a "stacked" team.

awooga83 it’s not just about whether there’s better options than Martinelli and Eze. Barcola is obviously better. But the club can’t justify paying the £145m on top. You have to remember that the club have signed Tzolis and they obviously rate him.

I don’t think it’ll be an awful summer if we got Bruno, Tzolis and a defender.

Mirth it would be bad for me because I don't tgink we would have improved our attacking quality and that is the biggest limitation of this Arsenal. I think losing Trossard also makes us a lesser team in that regard and I'm not sure if I feel Tzolis can actually address it so on we'd be slightly worse off in an area I think we need to be prioritising.
