Quite pleased this is the scale of rumour we get connected with. If he came to England it'd be a total gamble but it would certainly be a pretty enticing trailer for the Arsenal soap opera. Saka's ankles would personally write to the King to give him a knighthood as well.

Klaus If I was take a guess I'd say somewhere between £130m-£150m imo, we've seen in recent times players go for near full asking price with a year left.

Partey had a buy out clause in his contract but we had to deposit the full amount with La Liga and they released his contract, essentially couldn't pay in instalments.

JazzG Everyone in Spain has the same kind of clause, it's stipulated by the league. I'm not sure how much Vinnie's would be though.

If I were to guess I'd say Real want to avoid that and so do we, but it would probably be a much better alternative for us than paying £150 million in installments.

Sicario2 maybe. I think it would be a bit more like when we signed Ozil. It felt like the whole team upped their game when we signed him. The difference now though is that we're a team that's just won the league versus a team that was leaking more and more quality with every passing season.

Either way, you hope it would encourage us to take a bit more attacking risk.

Yeah this isn't like spending megabucks on Wirtz or Pepe. Vinicius is one of the best in the world in his position and has a genuine CL-winner aura.

Sicario2 Bullshit ... he's a prima donna, the move from Spain to England is always hit and miss, he'd get kicked to hell and back twice a week and the pundits would instantly make him the sport's leading heel. There's a reason a lot of high-priced transfers are flops, and this one would be a pure coin toss over a couple of seasons.

After what happened with Neymar Jr the clauses are now super high. Remember hearing like €1b or something ridiculous like that.

Partey's was actually very low compared to his quality as a player and Atletico tried hard to convince him to sign a new contract, only thing that put clubs off was his wage demands and all up front clause. Haven't heard of any big players buying out their contract.

** Ozil, Sanchez, Di Maria and Casemiro didn't have Vinicius's pedigree when they joined.

Dom Özil basically did. If anyone at Real except Ronaldo was untouchable at the time it would probably have been him, but things changed quickly.

Ozil might have been as popular as Vini is now, but Vinicius is a forward and has won multiple league titles and Champions League trophies. I believe Ozil only had a single league win at Real (in their defence they were up against the biggest cheats in football history).
