I’d put Rice up in the best midfielder in the world competition but I do think Caicedo is one step behind him, Pedri and Vitinha. It’s not a huge gap but his tactical awareness is nowhere close to those three. He can get away with it most of the time with his otherworldly engine and desire to tackle anything and everything but you can suck him out of position far too easily to be included with those three in my opinion.
With that in mind, I think we can get at Chelsea in the space between their lines since Enzo isn’t athletic enough and Caicedo can overcommit and get caught out. Could definitely see Eze beating him and then finding himself in acres of space. I think Merino would also cause them tons of trouble in that space. My only worry in this game is Estevao and Netos 1v1 ability when matched up with our left side. Timber will lock down anyone on the left. If we can contain the threat down their right then we will be fine.
