They were very shit for about 2 and a half months last season so comparisons with last season will always look favourable.
Our haul this season so far is very respectable. Really, it is. If we can continue at the pace we have now (assuming we win both our next games to take us to 45pts) we'll be on course for 90 at the end of the season.
We've had a wobble and dropped points with 2 draws and a loss in our last 5 or 6 games, having only had 1 draw and 1 loss in the first 10-11 games or so. That said we stopped it from being even more dropped points by rescuing a late win vs Wolves and beating Everton and Brentford (all of whom we should be beating).
I think the problem some people have at the moment is despite the points on the board, it feels like a chore to get things done and over the line, it feels like we're running on fumes, and that the players aren't having fun out there. It's like the pressure (whether external or internally) is weighing on them and although we are doing enough to stay ahead, it does feel like those doubts and fears that have crept into the team has resulted in things being closer than they should be given the lead we had.
