You remind me of Lehmann. The bloke would get irate and risk getting himself sent off and sabotaging us by grabbing someone around the throat because they’d breathed on him as a corner was coming in. Then, the following weekend, some tosser would try to seriously injure him by flying in two-footed after a ball Lehmann already had safely in both hands - only for Lehmann to get up after lying there in genuine agony and shake the offender’s hand. Nuts.

This is a long season and will be bumps in the road but the way ppl acted tonight as if it’s gw36 and we’ve lost the the title, shambles.

We are first in the league by 5 points, first in CL by 3 points and still in all cup competitions and have big players coming back (Gab).

You're missing the point here. We have bottled the league so many times in recent seasons, and you know who hasn't? City. They have literally caught us and overtaken us 2 of the past 3 seasons (and both Arsenal and City were way off Liverpool last season). I've been watching football since probably before you were alive, so i'm very aware of where we sit in the current table.

And Leeds are almost as close to City's point total as they are to Wolves (in the opposite direction). Leeds are not great, but they aren't Wolves (who could challenge Derby's lowest point total in EPL history).

If City drop points to Palace today, we will all feel a little better. But chances are, they won't

City aren't City. They're a strong side but they're behind us in the table despite our flaws and they're not getting any closer this weekend. We'll need to focus on accumulating points irrespective of them.

I’m watching City vs Palace, and City have looked even worse than we did yesterday. They created fuck all in the 1st but scored from one solid cross.

Their fans would be concerned by that performance, but they may be living easy as past performance (titles) suggests they’ll persevere.

On our hand, I’m not sure how anyone can’t be concerned when our large squad isn’t trusted and is falling apart due to over use. Our five best players this season (Gabriel, Timber, Rice, Cali, and Saka) are all either hurt or in the red zone.

And for many of us, that concern is only magnified by a distrust of Arteta’s ability (willingness?) to coach a high functioning attack.

By the end of the year we’ll be second and my guess is that will be it. We’re just a bunch of bottlers, that is now clear to me. A slightly elevated version of Spurs basically.

that's what i hate the most about spurs being our main rivals. they don't put any pressure on us to be better the way historically liverpool and united have done for each other. if chelsea were historically our main rivals the abramovich years might have shamed us into being better and not piss about with serial bottler wenger who helped established that as an acceptable part of arsenal culture. we just need to be better than the spuds domestically.
