It's been a while.

We play Fulham this weekend, the last 3 times we played there we got 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw in that order so kinda shit. They started the season meh for them I guess, won 2, got 2 draws and lost 3. And they lost 3 in the last 5 but in a strange way the only 2 wins they have came in the last 5 as well, vs Brentford and Leeds, so the games you expected them to win. They have conceded a decent amount, 11 and have a negative GD(-3).

They have 3 players missing in Lukic , Rodrigo Muniz & Tete. I think Tete is a good player for them, no idea about the other two. Jimenez and Robinson are a doubt as well.
For us out for sure are Jesus, Havertz(but not for long, get in), Madueke & Odegaard. Hincapie is listed as doubtful but we have no word on him, he kinda just came in and then disappeared.

Big game for us - these are exactly the sort of games we need to win to win the League. I know that's a really obvious thing to say but it's more about the mentality. They need to show ruthlessness and guard against any complacency.

Credit to them they’ve played us really well the last few years. Marco Silva is a solid coach and has them focused, and playing a clear style that fits their talent level.

What I remember from last year is they are relatively open after any turnover or (their) press. They have good structure but some decent 10-15 yard gaps that we need to exploit with some sharp combinations.

I’m sure Eze will start ahead of Nwaneri but I think this is a game Nwaneri could feast in.

Injury update from Arteta: Odegaard will be out for "weeks". Still trying to learn definitive return date. White and Zubimendi were having their load managed early in the week, but are available. Hincapie back in training. Havertz and Madueke getting closer to returing.

Yeah, Fulham are a half decent team, but lets be honest, they are in 14th place, and have shipped 11 goals. This is the kind of game that we have to win this season. Its the kind of game that we brought the likes of Vik to put away. These are the games that lost us the title the past 2 seasons.

I think the team will come back in great spirits. Lots of people won their international games, and scored some goals (well, other than Vik) and i have a feeling we will be very hungry to win.

Fulham have given us tough games in recent years. they've been like newcastle in terms of being a thorny customer for us. it would be a another sign of progression if we can beat them.

That's my mentality/attitude going into most of the games vs "lesser" teams these days. We are or should be massive favorites for a reason. We are levels above like 95% of the league quality wise, both first team and options off the bench. And our boys work as hard as any other team. Unless we are simultaneously out tactic'ed (and I just don't see it) and terribly unlucky (for 90 full minutes?), we should be fine.

flobaba or we are blunt up front. thats still the big looming question mark - can we go on a run like the peak city/pool teams whereby lower teams are consistently swatted aside by 2-3 goals. when those guys were better than everyone on paper, they sure as hell made it count on grass.

for this game, I can't see arteta dropping merino, so i think we'll see the zubi/mik/dec midfield.

Unless you think Eze will play on LW, i dont know why we would start Merino over Eze at CM/CAM. Its proven not to work well with Mik/Dec several times
