We've been great at playing through the press, doing so with a high tempo that keeps getting us into promising positions. Our front three haven't quite been on it otherwise we'd be out of sight already.

I've missed Martin and MLS. So easy on the eye both of them

We've played them off the park but we need to be sharper in front of goal. I'd throw Ethan on for Merino. He's not really necessary in a game like this.

Sociedad's midfield been pretty good today. Merino definitely not as bad as some have suggested; no defence-splitting passes but been very tidy on the ball.

Don Pacifico -- how you could come away from that half with anything (nice) to say about Merino is beyond me. Fucking hell, if we still had ball boys they would have done more than him.

He's lucky to have escaped without a yellow card and hasn't featured in any of out 10+ attacking sequences.

MistaT I just think there were few times where he's done well to recycle possession quickly that has helped unlock our attack. We've been so slow to transition over the last 12 months that he's actually contributing to us attacking with more pace. It's what I was expecting from him when he signed - technical and tidy on the ball, releasing it early to someone more creative. It's not MOTM stuff by any stretch, I just think he's been an easy target for criticism because he's been part of some dire midfields but that's not all on him.

Watching Martinelli's goal again, shades of that Ozil assist back in the day on the touchline but a goal version.

This game shouldn't be just 1-0 but we've not been able to settle it. Really need that second goal which I think kills it and then we can relax otherwise we can slip into complacency and the game remains at risk.

Gyokeres could do with scoring this is not a good side and he's getting chances that I thought would be more in line with skillset.
