This seems to be his pattern. It happened last season too. It took him a number of games to get back into "full Rice mode" where he is dominant. I thought it was because last year was the Euros, i assumed he was tired and needed time to get up to speed again. And to be fair, he's working with a whole new midfield this season (Zubi and Ethan/Merino since Ode has been injured). But maybe thats his thing, he need a little time to get into the groove of the new season.
Our whole team looks like we're still figuring things out, how to play with each other and how the different players and pieces fit together. We see glimpses, but not putting it all together. The good news is, we're strong enough to win games without being completely on song. Once (if) we figure it all out, we're gonna be a nightmare for other teams. The best example of this is PSG last season. They were good early, but not world beating. And then they finally clicked and then ended up dominating their way to the Ligue 1 and CL titles.
