Claudius I thought Havertz was very good yesterday. Exactly what we needed. Our press worked for the first time in ages. We had around 4 recoveries in the first half hour because of the effort from him, Ode and Eze. Those 3 are a non-negotiable for me.
The press was better because Ode was the 10 instead of those other 2. Gyokeres has been our best presser with Ode out. Its frustrating how little they've played together.
As for Havertz he put in a shift, won some headers and was terrible in front of goal. That's his usual. Get the feeling if Gyokeres had played and missed so many chances and lost a one on one duel with Bernardo the way he did he'd be getting absolutely slated for it.
The real question is why do we need our centre forward to be winning those duels at the expense of having a striker who scores? Isn't that what Rice is for? Its not like he does anything much for the attack? What is wrong with our system that we need so many players like this.
