RocktheCasbah I was talking more about his character as a leader in the dressing room and a voice and mature /clever presence on the pitch. He obviously had issues while he was with us, which he appears to have ironed out in his last season with us and his period away. Not sure what his disciplinary record looks like with Sunderland but I haven't heard about any "dumb" red cards (yet). Also he is a very intelligent footballer and has the ability to unlock stacked defenses in the final third with quick, disguised, reverse passes. Only Odegaard in our squad has that quality and executes with less frequency.
Anyway, I sense the strong bitterness here, and it's not a hill I want to die on. It's Granit fucking Xhaka - I was one of his harshest critics while he was with us. I've moved on. So has he. So should y'all.
