IMO, the Eze to Tottenham stuff now seems like it was kayfabe.
A couple of weeks ago Theo Walcott said people behind the scenes told him Eze to Arsenal was '90% done'.

Dom One thing I read about Eze is that his release clause stipulated almost all the cash up front, which is why no one wanted to pay it. This makes sense to me. There were a lot of rumours a month or so back that the issue wasn't the price but the financing. Could be we intended to move all along once the clause had expired but Havertz injury made the board greenlight it immediately to avoid all the negativity. They do seem media-savvy, don't they? We broke the Zubimendi and Gyökeres news immediately after the Partey charges came out too.
JazzG this I think the timing with the havertz news just almost certainly linked. This was the season we committed to try to win and when we lost havertz probably felt that have to address it

JazzG they were reporting weeks ago that terms were agreed. I'd say it was just formalities today.

awooga83 If we sign nobody else we have Trossard and Martinelli who can play CF so they can see things out and hopefully the Havertz injury isn't too serious but I am fearing the worse.
