Big Willie Now, I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate him either, but I certainly don't love him. In fact I don't particularly even like him.
Why is that though?
The man was our club captain, lifted our first trophy for nine years with Thomas Vermaelen. Quit playing when he could no longer be 10/10 every week because that is the standard at Arsenal, or should be. And has, as Burns says, he has resuscitated this club to the point where some here are saying he should go if we don't win something this year. He's an intense guy, he's made unpopular decisions, but he's made us a force domestically and in Europe again. More than that, listen to how he talks about the club, he is a proper Arsenal man.
If he could win the Champions League this season, for me it's not, "yes, you can keep your job"; it's "where would you like your statue sir?"
