FEBravo My issue is more that he's being treated like he's the second coming of Jesus (see what I did there), when he was an integral part of our League winning team. If you don't think he should feature, then cut our losses, say thanks for the league win, and get a replacement in.
We tried to. Problem is there's just not that many top level strikers around/available. Where I think we failed is that we didn't have a back up plan to Alvarez and didn't move on from him quickly enough - same issue with the Vinicius pursuit. We put all our eggs in those baskets and that obviously in retrospect wasn't a good strategy.
At this point we just need someone who can do the basics to a decent level. Even if they're not going to give us 20 goals a season, as long as they can consistently hold up play and bring in our wingers/midfield, that's an upgrade. Maybe that Esposito fella or the likes. I don't know. But this isn't the foggin standard.
