Havertz was surplus to requirements at Chelsea. He was struggling to find a place in their XI and was a top earner. This was a problem for them. We came in and signed him for £65m and made him our top earner. He's now no longer in our best XI after two years and a problem for us to deal with. We're not an oil club, we can't carry a £280k a week player on the bench but we will have to because we're Chelsea's bitch. The fans were against this and have been proven correct. He has a been a failure. Bought to play at 8 and failed. Now a mediocre striker on massive wages. Trash.
No one really complained about Jorginho (revisi those threads if you don't believe me). Most acknowledged it was a smart low risk deal.
And convenient that you forgot about Gallas (who was made our captain and given the 10 jersey), Diarra, Cech, Willian, Luiz, Benayoun and Sterling. All failures. All trash.
One success. Great ratio. You must be over the moon with that success rate. Who do you want next? @JazzG - feel free to chime in as well. You guys seem eager to shop from the Chelsea cart, so who's next? I can tell you it won't be anyone they actually want to keep.
Sure there might be some good players who slip through the cracks at Chelsea but we are paying final product money for Madueke. Do people not understand this? This outrage would not exist if this was a £25m deal. We can't afford to spend £52m (£48m upfront) on someone who may or may not be a good player. Do you think it's reasonable to spend this amount on someone who might be good? He's the fifth most expensive player in our history. Does this make sense to you? Genuinely? If it does, I've got a Fiat I need to sell that I think you might be interested in.
Do we get a trophy for finishing above Chelsea and stopping them from beating us? Funny how far standards have fallen. Arteta should stick this in his short list of Wiki honours.

Hardly the same thing with Gyokores. The fact that you can't see this is concerning.
- Gyokores is a 9, a position unanimously understood we need to improve on (because our current £65m, £280k a week ST is a flop)
- He's one of the best players available in the market in this position
- There is no widespread confusion as to why we're signing him, we need goals and he scores them.
Compare this to Madueke who is going to back up our best player in a position where we are already very strong. Saka and Nwaneri is excellent for this position. Improve on Martinelli at LW and he can then cover RW also. Instead, we made Madueke our 5th most expensive signing of all time to cover RW or play out of position at LW. Shit business and once again helps Chelsea out of a bind.
Arteta has done a good job but he's not above criticism. Defacing his mural is childish and unacceptable, but that doesn't mean we can't question his decision making. He has not made one good attacking signing since he has come here but we're expected to just sit back and trust the process without question? Might work for you, but not for me.
