The injury to Saka has probably given a chance to get going and so far he is taking. He ain't gonna bench Saka but ordinarily right now we are stressing out and thinking of throwing Saka back in whereas now he can be eased back into fitness and into the side.

Happy for him, got way too much stick from our own fans. The price was probably a bit too high but even at £40m some had already made their mind up on him. Still a long way to go for him but a positive start to his time with us.

Gotta say, he looked quite effective v. Serbia (granted, Serbia were not great). Had a goal, should've had an assist for the ball in to Kane.. Was an easy outlet, had no problem running at the defenders. I could see him getting a lot of free kicks for us, as teams will try to take him down, much like they do with Saka. I have not hated what i have seen from him so far this season. Will he justify 50 million? I don't know, but early signs are positive for me. I really hadn't seen too much of him until this season (I didnt regularly watch Chelsea).

Been a pretty good international break for quite a few of our players. Madueke, Rice, Odegaard, Merino, etc.

What does that look like these days? He's probably not going to be first XI even if he does well so it'd be harsh to say "not worth £50m" if he doesn't. Hincapie is in a similar position. If they have a meaningful contribution to a title run then they'll have been worth it. If he can make himself as important as Trossard the last 2 years he'll have done very well.

True, 50 million is just the going rate these days. I agree that if we win something major, then it doesnt matter what he (or your other example of Hincapie) costs, they will be part of the team that wins something, and its worth it. It will be validation of the squad building, and everyone will play a part.

If he looks decent like that when he plays, the £50m won't matter, we'll scoop a good chunk of it back if we choose. Remembering he's reportedly on lower wages, he looks a deal, and if he does "explode" he looks an absolute bargain.

Focus on transfer fees rather than wages is weird and distorting. Of course for Americans the fact that none of these things are publicly reported is weird.

Good performance, still needs to work on his final ball, probably has more time than he thinks to get it off.

I think its more that he needs to work on his right foot more. His crosses were too often floated across, which is easier to defend. But otherwise, he absolutely terrorized Forest's LB today. Im sure Saka would have done the same, but its nice to have multiple players who can do that and cause havoc.

Doc there are a few tweaks he can make because he constantly has his man on the back foot which gives him options. He's a bit too prone to slow everything to a stop and then start again. He needs to learn to mix it up and sometimes do things a bit quicker.

The amount of space they were giving him was insane. You could see it really well live. They were double teaming Gyok and leaving Noni 1v1. Saka would have been upset seeing it. Doesn’t have the best final ball but went through almost at will and will just get better. You can see he’s full of confidence too.
