It's probably why Arteta has been reticient playing Nwaneri in the middle as he likely doesn't have the legs to be the creative fulcrum and the pressing lead. It's a huge responsibility to take on.
It's not one pre-season game, it's the last two seasons. Martinelli is fantastic but not good enough for a team that wants to win the league and has to play against low blocks most weeks. He'd be great for someone like Villa but is a level below what we need to win now.

Nwaneri has had some good moments, mostly coming from the right... still has a lot to learn positioning wise to play as an 8/10. Straight swap with Odegaard changes the dynamic of the midfield, different players...not quite sure it works
