Claudius -- I think you nailed our problem. Arteta has built a team designed around players who are bothy physically dominant and who have a solid technical base. When we're missing Calafiori, Gabriel, Havertz, etc. we don't shift to an approach that favors technical players like Odegaard (needs runners ahead). I would also call out Partey as missing and another player with high physical ability and technical floor.
We've consistently seen this year that we struggle to win with fluid attacking. Instead, our gameplan seems to be winning 1-0 or 2-1, and to accomplish this we rely on game control and a high volume of chance creation via crossing.
All this to say, if we continue in Arteta's vision we need a more athletic player than Odegaard.
