Players' effort levels were faultless. Don't think anyone out there could be accused of hiding or bottling it.

But at this level the limitations of Odegaard and Martinelli were glaring. Very little craft and ingenuity.

Qwiss make or break summer for him because the way we've recruited in attacking midfield and the frontline is genuinely diabolical.

Qwiss Don't agree with that, we are without Partey + Jorginho that in turn meant Merino had to drop into midfield and Trossard up top. Completely changed the whole dynamic of the team as a result.

Tactics

Dom Playing with no risk whilst losing at home ? Then of course we are not going to score

Switch to a midfield of Rice, Zinchenko, Odegaard with Merino upfront. I don't see it as a big risk at all

Tactics -- Rice would still have been the deepest midfielder, which was the biggest issue of the day.

Not sure Zinchenko would have unlocked anything today.

But damn near everyone besides Rice needs a better showing.

Kel Varnsen rice stomped on them at times. amazing physicality and drive. he's proved he belongs at this level

But Rice really stood out as our best player in the second half.

MLS was fine, little bit of a janky game by him asides from that great pass to Martinelli

Qwiss rice was by far our MOTM. after the first 20 minutes he was physically dominant and provided important drive for the team. once parteys back and we can release rice a bit higher I think we'll make life much harder for that PSG midfield

odegaard was pretty much the inverse of that. bitterly disappointed with his showings in most big games this season

Tactics

MistaT The point was we needed to attack differently because it was evident we were never going to create chances through passing. Therefore, move Merino up front and spam their box with crosses. This PSG team is very vulnerable on crosses (we scored 2 from crosses last time we played them).

Lotta indifferent luck in that match as well as a lot of good luck. It's a pity we didn't take a chance here or there, or get to keep Merino's header.

Arteta doesn't quite have the chops for big match days.

I give us very little chance of progressing now, 20% would be flattering it. Shame.

Pretty disgusted by that performance. We played like the loser club we are in Europe. Technically and tactically we were outclassed and we didn't match their intensity.

Really disappointed in that performance. Would have preferred to have seen Merino continue upfront.

He performed the same disappearing acts against Munich though. We need an alternative next season, whether it's Merino or an opportunistic transfer in the summer. Even in his better seasons he can't maintain form for the majority of the campaign.
